Mark Gannon

Mark Gannon - COO

As a 1993 Penn State graduate, Mark is an impeccable example of that university’s ability to produce great leadership in today’s workplace. Being the son of Max Gannon, owner and CEO, Mark did not take the easy road up the management ladder. Instead he lived and breathed every aspect of the organization and let his experience, aptitude and drive, lead him to the top. Mark started his career at Gannon Associates as part of the support staff for our Personal Lines department then migrated into a Customer Service Rep position.

Determined to better himself and the agency, Mark obtained his Life & Health license and became a Producer, focused on individuals and small to medium size businesses. His successes there soon led to his managing the Life and Health department and it was obvious within a short time, that Mark’s commitment to the agency, passion for the insurance industry, dedication to our customers and employees, and vision for the future made him an excellent choice as COO of Gannon Associates.

Vesting himself in our agency and the customers we serve, Mark continued to develop his insurance expertise by obtaining his Property & Casualty license and becoming a recent Dale Carnegie graduate. He also serves our industry, agency, community and customers tirelessly by holding positions on many insurance & local community boards and councils such as, National Advisory Board for Allstate Insurance Company, Producer Council for Selective Insurance and Ohio Casualty, YMCA of Bradford County, United way of Bradford County and Towanda Area School District Educational Foundation. In his down time Mark enjoys spending time with his wife Kelly and his 3 beautiful daughters Abigayle, Alexandra and Ava.

Steve Sumner

Steve Sumner - Commercial Lines Director, CPCU

As a graduate of Penn State University in 1986, Steve went on to attain his Finance MBA from Syracuse University in 1989. Eager to put his education and knowledge to work, he joined USGA in 1990 as an Underwriter, and was approached by Gannon Associates in 1991 to be a Commercial Producer. Due to his great success and determination to best serve our clientele Steve went on to obtain his CPCU designation in 2005. 18 years later, Steve now serves as our Commercial Lines Director, specializing in the municipality niche for his own sales and supervising, training and mentoring our other Commercial Lines producers to insure that all of our existing clients and prospects are treated with the same due diligence that he offers personally. When Steve is not busy supporting the communities we serve you can find him spending time with his wife Melanie and two wonderful children Aubrey and Jesse.

Sean Beirne

Sean Beirne - Commercial Sales Manager, Ag-Division

Sean wasted no time putting his hard earned Business Administration degree from Elmira College to good use, when he became the Owner / Operator of a Beverage Distributor in Sayre, PA. After operating his business for 17 years and building key relationships within Sayre and surrounding communities, Sean sold the distributorship in 2001 to pursue a professional career in the insurance industry with Gannon Associates. Jump starting his career in the Personal Lines division, Sean leveraged his relationships within the communities he served to propel himself within the agency. In 2005, Sean migrated to our Property & Casualty division as a producer and was promoted to Commercial Manager of our specialty Ag Division in 2007. In addition to his sales success, Sean also holds both his Life & Health and Property & Casualty licenses and is working to complete his AFIS designation. Outside his agency work, Sean enjoys spending time with his wife Cheryl and son Brandon who is a senior i college. Additional hobbies include hunting and golf.

David Reill

David Reilly - Regional Manager / Producer CPCU, CIC & AIC

Dave brings over 13 years of industry experience, knowledge and expertise to Gannon Associates and our customers. Starting his career as an Underwriter and Claims Adjuster for Property & Casualty, Dave joined the Gannon team in 2003. He is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and holds a Master’s degree in Criminology. Professionally Dave is also a graduate of Dale Carnegie, and has attained the CPCU, CIC and AIC designations. He is also Vale National certified for building damage estimating and liability loss adjusting. In his spare time, Dave spends time with his wife Valerie and beautiful daughter Sydney.

Kevin Murray

Kevin Murray - Regional Manager / Producer

Extending our service area to the Southern Tier of NY, Kevin joined Gannon Associates in 2005 as a Commercial Producer. Prior to becoming part of the Gannon team, Kevin spent 5 years with Perry and Carroll and was recognized as one of their best commercial producers. With 10 years of insurance industry experience, Kevin is helping to bring real, value-added insurance solutions to our customer base in the Elmira, NY area and surrounding communities. Kevin is a graduate of Elmira College and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. In addition to his education and experience, Kevin also holds his Life & Health and Property & Casualty licenses. For downtime Kevin enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife Cathy and three incredible children Ashley, Nathan and Riley.

Mike Handshew

Mike Handshew - Regional Manager / Producer

Based in Shippensburg, PA - Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and real-life experience to his new position at Gannon Associates. Starting his professional insurance career in 1995 as a Marketing Representative for Met Life, he has held positions of Marketer, Producer and Manager and also has acquired both his Life & Health and Property & Casualty licenses. When Mike is not working to serve our customers, he enjoys spending time with his wife Deb and his 2 daughters Rachel (7) and Megan (6). Outside of work and family time you will likely find Mike hunting, hiking, skiing, or flying as a private pilot.

RV Martin

RV Martin - Regional Sales Manager / Producer CPCU, CWCA

As one of our Regional Sales Managers, RV brings 15 years of field experience which includes, Risk Management, Investments and Commercial insurance. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with dual degrees in Finance and Accounting. Since joining the insurance industry he has achieved his CPCU and CWCA designations and is also a Dale Carnegie graduate. RV has just wrapped up his first year with Gannon Associates, and has done a great job in consolidating job responsibilities of the agents and service staff at several of our locations to bring greater efficiencies and value to our consumers.

Sara Sivers

Sara Sivers - Producer

Sara is a cum laude graduate of Marywood University and holds a degree in Communications. Beginning her career here at Gannon Associates in 2003, Sara has become an expert on Life, Health, Disability and Employee Benefits for both the individual and group markets. In addition to her dedicated focus on Life & Health benefits, Sara is also obtained her Property & Casualty license to further the Gannon philosophy of “helping to meet all the insurance needs of our customers”. When Sara is not diligently helping to give our customers that peace of mind, you can likely find her on the golf course.

Rachelle KinsmanCSA

Rachelle Kinsman - Regional Manager / Producer RHU, REBC, CSA

With almost 20 years of agency experience, Rachelle is one of our veteran employees. She has held positions within our organization that range from accounting, to call-center-service manager, and now is one of our top producers in the Life and Health field. Having worked with Medicare options since 1999, Rachelle has dedicated herself to this industry and is consistently ranked one of the top agents in the country with the most respected National Carriers. She has qualified for Presidents club 3 years running, and truly brings a unique value-added service to our mature market. In addition to her achievements in the Medicare Supplement / Advantage industry, Rachelle also has attained her RHU, REBC, and CSA professional designations and is licensed in both Life & Health and Property & Casualty.
